This is the kind of post that will make me want to read your blog.where you give information that I don't already have and not just speculation.I hope you keep it up and put more factual information and analysis in your posts.

tsn still has him unsigned, but that can be off at times.

Akim Aliu cannot play in the NHL. Not enough talent. 'Nuff said.

Little shocked Blum couldn't get a 1-way deal from some team.

He was that bad?
All I know about him is that he is young and scored some goals for you guys when he was brought up to the team..
More info?

Yah, I chuckle at that comment.

Aliu is not talented enough for Calgary but Grats' is.

Aliu. Million dollar body, ten cent head. Not enough brains to stick in the NHL.

That I can somewhat agree with.

off the charts athletic wise, but still needs to learn how to use it and be consistant.

Still though, he's young and if it clicks one day he could be a solid bottom six guy.

In a lot of ways he's like that pitcher that throws 100mph but he can't throw strikes. If he gets it one day he could be an alright player.

That was towards the end of the 2011-2012. He came in a for a few games, provided a spark, and scored a couple extremely lucky goals. He has some size, but lacks skill and his skating is very underwhelming. Not only that, but for a guy his size/role, he doesn't drop the gloves very often and is not a very good fighter either.

He just doesn't think the game well and is not very smart out there. He was a healthy scratch a few times down in Abbottsford last year. I would be stunned if he ever had a consistent role in the NHL.

I think the odds are better that I'll hit the powerball than this schmuck putting it together.

Would love to see MG sign Tim Brent, Chad LaRose, and Matt Halischuk for our bottom 9. Hell, I'd be happy to see him sign only one of them.

Anyone else shocked Mason Raymond hasn't signed somewhere?

You'd think someone would have picked him up for a million or so.

Bit surprised.

For all Raymonds faults, he's still a capable hockey player at both ends of the ice.

Makes me think he's asking for more than he made on his last contract, probably over $2.15m a season...

Just noticed that. Good pick up, at a good cap hit of $650K.

Too bad MG is too busy buttering up Luongo in FLA right now. I know that the Canucks brass is hoping that some of our prospects can fill out the rest of the bottom 9, but there are still some proven cheaper veterans out there that can step right in and do it now. My guess would be that we don't see anymore FA signings on the Canucks until we get Tanev and Schroeder signed.

I agree. I'd take him on my team as a 3rd liner. See if he's motivated to get his career back on track?

Is Malhotra done? He seems to still want to play.

If he's not he should be. I just can't see a team taking a chance on a guy who has huge vision issues. Way too much risk to more injury to the player.

Calgary at 30?

Calgary is a great city. I know the team is kind of half azz right now, but I'd play here over at least 8-10 NHL cities.
